Job description

*Only the most qualified candidates will be contacted

If you’re the kind of accountant who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, dig into the details, and actually make things better — this is your role. This is a build-it, improve-it, grow-into-it opportunity with a company that’s been doing some pretty impressive work for decades.

You’ll step into a highly visible role where your impact is immediate — helping bring structure, clarity, and efficiency to a fast-moving, project-driven business. And if you’re someone who thrives in the weeds before leveling things up? You’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on, working leadership role — especially upfront.

  • Dive deep into project costing — connecting actuals to budgets and identifying variances
  • Partner with operations and project teams to improve visibility and accountability
  • Help refine and streamline existing job costing processes
Payroll & Day-to-Day Accounting
  • Own payroll across both weekly field employees and bi-weekly staff
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in a multi-cycle payroll environment
  • Get fully immersed in transactional accounting early on
Month-End Close & Reporting
  • Lead close process including journal entries, reconciliations, and financials
  • Provide meaningful insights to leadership — not just numbers
Cash Flow, Treasury & Fixed Assets
  • Monitor cash flow and support day-to-day treasury activity
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation
  • Assist with financial planning and overall business visibility
Process Improvement
  • Partner with leadership to modernize workflows, systems, and reporting
  • Help move the team from manual → more efficient, scalable processes
Why This Role is Different
  • You’ll learn the business inside and out — not just sit behind a desk
  • Strong leadership & mentorship in place to help you ramp up
  • Real opportunity to grow into a higher-level role
  • A culture built on servantleadership, humility, and teamwork
  • A place where relationships matter just as much as results
What They’re Looking For
  • 5–7+ years of accounting experience
  • Construction accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable being hands-on in transactional accounting + process improvement
  • Strong understanding of job costing and project-based financials
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (construction systems a plus)
  • Someone who is:
  • Detail-oriented but business-minded
  • Positive, relationship-driven, and collaborative
  • Willing to “get in the weeds” before optimizing
  • Primarily in-office role with flexibility when needed
  • True ~40-hour work week once fully ramped (slightly more during close)
  • Supportive, family-first flexibility (school drop-offs, life happens, etc.)
  • Strong benefits package + 401(k) match
  • Performance-based bonus potential
  • High level of autonomy and trust
The Bottom Line

If you’re a go-getter in your career but ready to take on something bigger — where you can learn, influence, and grow — this is a rare opportunity to step into a role that will accelerate your trajectory.
