Job Summary:

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records to support the dealership's financial operations. This role will assist the accounting office with balance sheet schedule maintenance, reconciliations, receivables/payables, compliance, and various administrative tasks.

Job Duties:

  • Enter daily financial transactions including cash receipts, payments, journal entries, and adjustments
  • Help maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile discrepancies across different accounts/schedules
  • Process vendor invoices and expense reimbursements; assist in processing receipts and refunds
  • Support accounting office with production of routine(daily/weekly/monthly) and ad hoc reporting
  • Liaise with the accounting team, dealership management, and vendors to resolve queries and issues
  • Assist with the preparation for regular and ad hoc audits, ensuring all relevant documentation is readily available.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or certificate in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Accounting/finance coursework at minimum
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, ideally within an automotive dealership or a similar retail industry

Technical Skills:

  • Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to technological updates.
  • Excel/Microsoft Office suite experience required
  • Dealership software familiarity preferred

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $16.54 - $22.34 USD per hour.
