Job summary

Florida State University Housing in Tallahassee is seeking an Accounting Representative to manage daily cash operations and support the housing budgets.

You will analyze charges, reconcile cash, oversee deposits, and coordinate with vendors and university offices to ensure accurate records and compliant processes.

The role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and leadership to train and guide staff in cashiering functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or high school diploma/equivalency with four years of related experience.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files.
• Experience reconciling daily cash balance totals and processing deposits.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly departmental facility-related charges for Housing and Childcare operating budgets; liaise with Housing Business Offices, personnel, vendors, and University Facilities.
• P-Card proxy duties: maintain folders, reconciliations, and liaison with cardholders, vendors, auditors, and Procurement Office.
• Prepare and/or assist in reports for Housing Facilities; supervise Accounting Assistants and oversee cashiering standards and customer service.
• Daily cash duties: prepare daily deposits, reconcile cashiers to system reports, process deposits and voided transactions, and ensure security of cash-handling areas.
