Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an Accounting Specialist to maintain accurate financial records for Block Advisors clients. You will document transactions, generate financial statements, and assist with payroll and compliance tasks across multiple client accounts.

Collaborate with Tax Advisors and Account Managers to deliver services, solve accounting irregularities, and support retention through strong client service and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• National Bookkeeper and Payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Open Office).
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to new tools and automation.
• Analytical, detail oriented, and client-focused.

Responsibilities

• Document transactions and prepare financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and payroll management for small business clients.
• Assist Tax Advisors with data entry and uploading returns to the fulfillment network.
• Compile monthly and quarterly reporting and address client accounting irregularities.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Tax Advisors to grow and retain clients.
