Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Block Advisors Accounting Specialist to maintain accurate financial records for clients. You will document transactions, prepare reports, and assist with regulatory compliance, providing bookkeeping and payroll services for small business clients, including bank reconciliations and tax-related data entry.

Partner with Tax Advisors and Account Managers to deploy referrals and grow the Block Advisors client base while delivering timely financial statements and clear client

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• National Bookkeeper and Payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multi-task in multiple windows and apps.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping software and data management.
• Analytical and detail oriented.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Client services experience.
• Ability to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex instructions.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial information into accounting systems and maintain records.
• Perform bank reconciliations and payroll management.
• Assist Tax Advisors with tax return data entry and uploading returns.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and statements.
• Raise questions and address client accounting irregularities with service focus.
• Partner with Account Managers and Tax Advisors to support service delivery.
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Communicate with managers, clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Support growth opportunities and client retention through referrals.
