Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits in Indianapolis, IN, seeks an accounting support specialist to enter daily worksheets into the general ledger and support the accounting department.

Responsibilities include handling AR/AP, deposits, vendor setup, and expense reimbursements, with focus on accuracy and timely processing. This role offers comprehensive benefits and a path for growth within a leading beverage distributor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Knowledge of GAAP, federal regulatory guidelines, and organizational objectives is required.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain commercial insurance claims and employee expenses; carry out general administrative functions
• Open and distribute all incoming mail
• Assist in Accounts Receivable and collections, as well as Accounts Payable processing
• Prepare daily bank deposits for trade and retail invoices
• Data entry for cash receipts for those deposits into the system
• Process, print, and release checks on-demand including advances, loans, invoices and expense checks
• Assist with new vendor setup and submit W-9 and related forms for Master Data
• Maintain files of all incoming checks and vendor/employee information for expenses
• Prepare and file reports of commercial insurance accidents and maintain liability certificates
• Maintain and update monthly budgets for the state and overtime reports
• Prepare all expense reimbursement vouchers for entry into the system
• Track budgets to control expenditures
• Capture, verify and forward bill back expenses to the Assistant Accounting Manager
• Data entry of samples and salesperson bottle purchases into spreadsheets
• Prepare and mail bill back invoices and maintain wine lists for quarterly bill backs
• Maintain accounting department files and labels
• Verify and investigate information on expense forms
• Maintain mailing labels for vendors/employees and for accounting
• Replenish accounting department supplies and assist with related tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
