Job summary

IDEAL Building Solutions is seeking an Accounting Assistant in Norcross, GA for a full-time, in-office role (Mon–Fri, 7:00 am–4:00 pm). The position focuses on high-volume AP, AI-enabled data tasks, and project cost control within a leading commercial roofing contractor environment.

You will manage invoices, cost codes, cash postings, project billing, and labor reconciliation while collaborating with project managers and other departments.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction, roofing, or trade industries.
• Proficient with AI-enabled software and modern ERP systems; high proficiency in Excel is a must.
• Detail-oriented; you catch cost-coding errors that others miss.
• Resilient and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with project managers and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Review and process high volumes of invoices within our AI-enabled accounting system.
• Verify the accuracy of AI-generated project cost codes to ensure precise job costing.
• Post electronic cash receipts transactions promptly.
• Research discrepancies in payments and coordinate with internal departments to resolve issues.
• Assist with project billing (AIA or progress billing).
• Manage onboarding/prequalification packages for General Contractors and potential customers.
• Reconcile labor between payroll platform and internal trackers.
• Assist month-end close activities and bank reconciliations.
