Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll in Finance Operations. You will assist with resident billing, monthly close, and ensuring proper approvals and coding.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Accounting, 2+ years of accounting experience (healthcare a plus), and strong attention to detail with Excel and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; senior living or healthcare a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and accounting systems.
• Clear communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
• Support resident billing, collections, and Medicare/Medicaid coordination.
• Review invoices for proper approvals and coding.
• Assist with monthly close, accruals, and journal entries.
• Reconcile resident deposits, petty cash, and bank accounts.
• Maintain resident financial files in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations and monthly P&L accuracy.
• Help monitor key internal controls and census reporting.
