Job summary

Generations is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the BOC and accounting tasks while maintaining strict separation of duties. You will assist with month-end close, vendor invoices, bank deposits, and resident statements under regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes accuracy, deadlines, and teamwork in a multi-site senior living environment. Prior experience in accounting and familiarity with relevant software are preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems (PointClickCare, Sage Intacct, OnCare).

• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to company policies and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow the monthly financial calendar to ensure timely month-end close with BOC and Staff Accountants.
• Review, verify and approve vendor invoices in procurement software and post to accounting system.
• Review bank deposits from BOC and enter into accounting software accurately.
• Assist BOC with resident monthly rent statements and refunds per policy and contract.
• Provide training and guidance to BOC as needed and collaborate with the accounting team to streamline workflows.
• Assist with data entry or resident inquiries during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Support annual external audits by providing necessary documentation.
