AmTrust Financial Services in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an Accountant II to perform general ledger, reinsurance accounting, account analysis and compliance tasks as part of a collaborative finance team.

Responsibilities include creating recurring journal entries, assisting with month-end close, preparing reconciliations, supporting audit requests, and contributing to the statutory financial statements and state filings. Proficiency in Excel and Oracle is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Excellent PC skills with a strong background in Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in Oracle, Property/Casualty insurance industry, insurance accounting, or IFRS accounting is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Create recurring journal entries based on standard monthly support and act as point person for ad-hoc entries.
• Assist in the preparation of month end reports to substantiate and document account balances.
• Prepare reinsurance billings, process related journal entries and complete reinsurance tables and schedules.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate unusual items.
• Generate GL data requests.
• Assist in timely preparation of the statutory financial statement and state compliance filings.
• Assist with gathering information for internal and external audit requests.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly close processes with the team.
• Take on ad-hoc projects as requested.
