AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. seeks an Accountant III to support Specialty Risk—US entities, focusing on detailed accounting records, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance.

The role involves preparing GAAP and regulatory financial statements, intercompany analysis, and assist with special projects and process improvements within a collaborative, multi-entity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience, with 2-year focus on insurance accounting.
• Strong knowledge and application of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion (HFM) or FCCS is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and cash reconciliations.
• Maintain quarterly accrual schedules and intercompany activity records.
• Support corporate team and ad hoc projects, including system enhancements.
• Assist in the preparation of GAAP and Regulatory financial statements.
