Russell Tobin is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong GAAP knowledge, Excel skills, and experience in general ledger accounting and reconciliations. The role covers month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and internal/external audits, with a broad range of accounting responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to special projects.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field and be proficient in Excel

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and related accounting activities to support financial statements and reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations, analysis, and reviews as part of the month-end close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring appropriate accounting classifications in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and maintain monthly accruals, allocations, and complex journal entries based on updated information.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits.
• Assist with evaluating, maintaining, and monitoring internal controls and related documentation.
• Manage various accounting and administrative processes.
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.
