Job summary

H.J. Russell is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to execute tasks across the Finance function for both Corporate and Operations (including Joint Ventures). The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support in accordance with US GAAP, reporting to the Corporate Controller.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries for monthly accounting activity.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Review general ledger for accuracy and perform variance analyses.
• Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics and benchmarks.
• Assist with Audit activities (Interim and Final).
• Collaborate with Operations and Ownership.
• Support automation and process improvements in accounting and reporting.

The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support in accordance with US GAAP. The position will interact with Operations Management and Ownership as well as other members of the Finance Team.

Responsibilities

• Must be a team player and sustain a collaborative, customer centric, environment,


• Work with business partners, incl. Operations to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support to them as and when necessary,


• Record journal entries for monthly accounting activity,


• Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts,


• Review the general ledger for accuracy and perform variance analyses,


• Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks etc,


• Respond to inquiries and requests from across the Company / external Stakeholders,


• Assist with Audit, incl. Interim and Final fieldwork,


• Help with any projects that may be requested.

Qualifications & Experience

• An accounting professional with a construction background is preferred – ERP is CMIC,


• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited college or university,


• 5 years or more experience within a Corporate and/or Construction Accounting environment,


• CPA certification or in the process of obtaining CPA is strongly preferred,


• Good understanding of accounting theory, US GAAP.
