Confidential in New York City seeks a seasoned Shared Services Controller to lead financial reporting, close management, and governance for the shared services entity. This senior role partners with Finance leadership, IT, and auditors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements.

The position requires 10+ years of accounting experience in financial services, strong US GAAP knowledge, and leadership of month-end processes, with SAP/OneStream/Hyperion and advanced Excel

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Financial services industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with intercompany accounting, allocations, reconciliations, and internal controls (SOX).
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with SAP, OneStream, Hyperion, and advanced Excel.

• Manage a team of two supporting month-end close.

• Oversee accruals, allocations, intercompany activity, and journal entries.

• Partner with FP&A, Tax, AP, Product Control, and other finance teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Standardize processes and improve operational efficiency.

Our client, a major bank, is looking to hire a Shared Services Controller in New York City

Pay Rate Range: Paying 56-63/hr W2

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Shared Services Controller leads financial reporting, close management, accounting governance, and finance operations for the shared services legal entity. This role oversees financial reporting, process improvements, systems initiatives, and internal controls while partnering with Finance leadership, business units, IT, and auditors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage a team of two supporting month-end close.
• Review financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Finance Operations

Requirements

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with intercompany accounting, allocations, reconciliations, and internal controls (SOX)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with SAP, OneStream, Hyperion, and advanced Excel

Preferred Accounting Experience

• ASC 360, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 850
• Fixed assets, prepaid expenses, depreciation, amortization
• Intercompany accounting and cost allocations
• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
