Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks an experienced Administrative Project Manager M3 to serve as Deputy Portfolio Manager for the Wastewater Capital Program in Queens, NY. You will oversee planning, design and delivery of major capital projects with a focus on schedule, cost and safety.

Responsibilities include leading PM teams, coordinating with cross-divisions, negotiating contract changes, and ensuring Environmental Health & Safety integration throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience as an Administrative Project Manager or equivalent overseeing capital project delivery.
• Experience using formal project delivery SOPs and methodology for major public works projects.
• PMI certification, AM training, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design and construction of major capital projects in the Wastewater Capital Program.
• Coordinate with bureau support divisions and external stakeholders to ensure scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
• Negotiate contract changes and ensure Environmental Health & Safety integration across the project lifecycle.
• Serve as acting Portfolio Manager in the absence of the Portfolio Manager and lead cross-divisional initiatives.
