This role owns the commercial side of a book of accounts worth roughly $50K to $250K each, covering renewals, expansion and pricing talks while Customer Success handles adoption. A strong candidate has several years of quota carrying account management or AE work at a B2B SaaS company, with named expansion results on mid market or enterprise accounts. They also need enough technical grounding to discuss how docs are written, reviewed and published, and to hold their own with engineering leaders.
The product itself is built for a world where docs are read by AI agents as well as people, so rising AI usage inside accounts becomes a real expansion signal. The account manager turns that signal into offers such as AI credits and add ons, which means reading usage data and timing conversations well. The human parts stay central: discovery, building a business case, negotiation and relationships across teams.
Working here means selling into how companies adopt AI search, assistants and agent facing docs, so the account manager learns how AI usage shows up in customer behavior and pricing. That experience is built by studying usage patterns in accounts, learning usage based pricing like credits and overages, and getting fluent in how engineering teams roll out AI tools. Familiarity with docs platforms or developer tools helps.
