Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an Account Director to manage a book of recurring clients in a fully remote setting (USA or Canada). You will own retention, renewals and upsells, while aligning with strategists and delivery teams to present a unified client voice.

The role requires agency account management experience, a proven track record of retaining clients and growing revenue, and the ability to carry a quota with clear, calm communication with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Agency account management experience in marketing, digital, creative or advertising agencies.
• Proven ability to retain clients and sell additional work with measurable results.
• Comfortable carrying a quota and discussing performance with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own retention across your book and manage renewals and early warnings.
• Identify upsell opportunities and expand projects within each client.
• Maintain a single, clear voice by coordinating with strategists and delivery teams.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is a remote digital agency running paid media, SEO, CRO and web for marketing-led brands. As Account Director you own an established book of recurring agency clients. Our sales team wins new clients; you keep them and grow them.

What You Will Own

• Retention across your book: the relationship, the renewal and the early warning when an account is drifting.
• Upsells and expansion: finding the next project inside each client and selling it.
• A seven-figure annual quota across retention and upsells.
• Working with the strategists and delivery team who run the work, so the client hears one clear voice.

What You Need

• Agency account management experience. Marketing, digital, creative or advertising agency. This is a must.
• A record of keeping clients and selling them more work, with numbers you can walk us through.
• Comfort carrying a quota.
• Clear, calm communication with senior client stakeholders.

Base plus commission, split 50/50.
