Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks a Coordinator of Accessible Technology to provide technical assistance and training in assistive technologies across all locations. The role manages accommodated testing requests through the Access Center and supports accessibility policy implementation.

Travel to regional campuses may be required to deliver services. The ideal candidate will oversee accessibility standards, coordinate testing accommodations, and collaborate with IT and instructional units

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year of related experience.
• Strong end‑user computer skills in both hardware and software.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards and disability law in higher education.
• Ability to coordinate testing and accommodations across campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in acquiring accessible formats and materials.
• Train students and faculty in assistive technologies.
• Manage and track equipment loans and returns.
• Coordinate and proctor testing accommodations and testing services.
• Collaborate with IT, Distributed Education and Web Design teams to promote universal access.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and ADAAA.
• Support policy revision and Alternative Access Plans as needed.
• Provide travel to regional campuses as required.
• Participate in committees and professional development.
