Job summary

Virginia Peninsula Community College is seeking an Accessibility Support Specialist to administer accommodations under the ADA and coordinate assistive technology services for students with disabilities. You will work with campus IT staff to install and maintain assistive technologies, oversee intake, and manage documentation accuracy.

The role requires experience with disabilities services, assistive technology, and student information systems.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Experience with assistive support technologies.
• Experience using a student information system.
• Administrative office experience.
• Knowledge of ADA, Section 504 & 508 and FERPA.

Responsibilities

• Administer accommodations under the ADA as part of Accessibility and Student Services.
• Provide initial overview of services for students with disabilities.
• Review and manage files to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Provide assistive technology services and training as needed.
• Coordinate and train students to utilize ASL remote services and report services.
• Proctor testing accommodations for students registered with accessibility services.
• Maintain student database and prepare statistical reports.
