Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking an Assistant Director for Assistive Technology - Disability Resources to support services for students with disabilities and ensure equal access to academic programs and activities.

The role includes direct student support, collaborating with faculty, co-administering policies to align with state and federal accessibility laws, supervising student workers, and coordinating accommodations and assistive technologies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Community Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Education, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Must obtain and maintain professional certification or licensure (CRC or LAC) within twelve (12) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate interviews to initiate accommodations and determine eligibility.
• Review and manage sensitive medical, psychological, and educational evaluations/records.
• Coordinate timely implementation of academic accommodations for students.
• Provide guidance to students on assistive technology and accessible materials.
• Collaborate with faculty to address accessibility questions and ensure compliance with laws.
