Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, VT is seeking a patient access representative to accurately identify and register patients in the hospital information system. This role supports Outpatient Services, Offsite Laboratories, Specimen Collection Center and the Emergency Department with complete demographic, insurance, and clinical information for timely billing.

The position is full-time on an evening shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) with rotating weekends and holidays; prior healthcare experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using a computerized information system.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and register patients in the hospital information system with complete demographic, insurance, and clinical information to assure accurate records and timely billing.
• Handle scheduling of same-day visits, tests, and ordering exams while providing reception and managing patient flow in support of Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging testing services or Emergency Department care.

Accurately identifies and registers patients in the hospital information system with complete demographic, insurance, and clinical information to assure accurate records and timely billing for patients receiving care in one of the following areas of service: Outpatient Services, Offsite Laboratories, Specimen Collection Center or Emergency Department. Handles all aspects of scheduling same-day visits, tests, ordering exams while providing reception and managing patient flow in support of Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging testing services or Emergency Department Care.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using a computerized information system.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
