Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in insurance verification within a healthcare or medical billing office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payors.
• Proven ability to obtain insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient scheduling, outreach, and communication in an outpatient Vascular Access Center.
• Maintain patient charts, handle physician correspondence, and answer telephones.
• Support central billing by gathering information, referrals, and insurance pre-authorizations.
• Verify patient insurance and obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as necessary.
• Coordinate dialysis treatments and transportation for patients when needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
