Qualifications

• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and compassionate approach to patients.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical procedures, testing, appointments, and interventional encounters.
• Schedule procedures efficiently while coordinating physician calendars and avoiding conflicts.
• Communicate appointment details and preparation instructions to patients.
• Coordinate pre-operative requirements including consents and medical clearance.
• Coordinate post-operative care and follow-up under the provider's direction.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial).
• Obtain referrals and insurance pre-authorizations.
• Collect and document insurance and demographic information.
• Forward billing information to Revenue Cycle Management.
• Assist with resolving scheduling or authorization issues.
• Coordinate dialysis treatments and transportation when necessary.
• Act as intermediary between physicians, referring facilities, and dialysis centers.
• Prepare and maintain physician reports, dictation, and letters.
