Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, seeks a Health Sciences Tutor for the Upward Bound program. The role focuses on providing health sciences tutoring mainly on Saturday mornings during weekly study hall, with additional appointments as requested.
This pooled, hourly position supports high school students and is filled as vacancies arise. The pay is $12.00 per hour, with 3–5 hours per week during 9 months of the year.

Job Summary/Basic Function
Provide health sciences tutoring to Upward Bound high school students during the academic year, mainly on Saturday mornings at weekly study hall, and also by appointment throughout the week, as requested by students. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
Involved in a post-secondary institution with a major in the pertinent academic discipline or evidence of equivalent knowledge and/or experience. Experience and/or knowledge in the special problems of minority, low income, first generation, and physically disabled students. Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students.
Preferred Qualifications
B.A./B.S. in pertinent academic discipline preferred, but not required. Graduate of TRiO program or experience in overcoming the challenges and/or circumstances similar to those of the target population.
Due to the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as an hourly or adjunct employee at Weber State for six months.
