Weber State University in Utah seeks an Academic Year English Tutor to support Upward Bound students. The position is hourly, with 3–5 hours per week across 9 months, including Saturday sessions from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and weekday appointments.

Qualifications

• Involved in a post-secondary institution with a major in the pertinent academic discipline or evidence of equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
• Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students.

Responsibilities

• Provide English tutoring to Upward Bound high school students.
• Tutor Saturdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and by appointment throughout the week.
• May implement grade-level specific college preparatory English activities and lessons.

• Job Summary/Basic Function: Provide English tutoring to Upward Bound high school students during the academic year, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and by appointment throughout the week, as requested by students. May Occasionally implement grade-level specific college preparatory English activities and lessons.
  This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified
• Required Qualifications: Involved in a post-secondary institution with a major in the pertinent academic discipline or evidence of equivalent knowledge and/or experience. Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students.
• Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of TRIO program or experience in overcoming the challenges and/or circumstances similar to those of the target population.
