Job summary

Weber State University seeks a Math Tutor for the SSS STEM program and a Peer Educator to support student success. Tutors assist with Math 0950 and higher for students in SSS STEM, tutoring is individual and by appointment, and training will be provided.

Peer Educators provide mentoring on campus resources, connections to campus and community, and guidance for graduation and career planning. This is a pooled, part-time position with Fall and Spring semesters.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills; Grades of B+ or higher in tutoring courses.
• Willingness to participate in training and work with SSS STEM students.

Responsibilities

• Tutor Math 0950 and above for Weber State University students participating in SSS STEM.
• Provide tutoring on a one-on-one basis by appointment.
• Peer Educator responsibilities include mentoring on campus resources, transition to college, and preparation for graduation.

Job Summary/Basic Function

Tutor Math 0950 and above to WSU Students who are participating in SSS STEM . Tutoring is individual and by appointment. Tutors must have a grade of B+ or above in the class tutoring.

Training will be provided and will be required.

Tutors will work Fall and Spring Semesters. Tutors hours will vary based off needs of SSS STEM Students and tutors.

Peer Educator will be responsible for supporting the success by providing intentional mentoring on a one on one in the following topic areas:

• Navigation of campus resources (financial aid, registration, wellness, etc.)
• Connection to campus and community (transition to college, making meaningful connections, participating in campus and community programs, etc.)
• Preparation for graduation and beyond (resumes, leadership skills, communication skills, etc.)

NOTE: This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
