Job summary

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse seeks an Academic Technology Support Specialist to assist, train, and support instructional technology across classrooms and online platforms. You will manage AV equipment, support video conferencing tools, and collaborate with ITS staff to implement technology-based learning tools.

The role requires strong customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills, with occasional after-hours events and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least two years of IT/educational media experience.
• Experience supporting classroom presentation technology and AV control systems (Q-SYS, Extron).
• Experience with learning technology and Office 365 applications.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain faculty-facing documentation and self-service resources.
• Provide one-on-one and group faculty training on instructional technology.
• Offer consultation and guidance on classroom technology resources.
• Maintain accurate records of classroom equipment in asset management system.
• Lead classroom technology upgrade projects and coordinate with vendors.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain classroom AV equipment and systems.
