Job summary

Webster University is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide comprehensive end-user support across campus, manage service desk operations, and support classroom and AV technologies. You will collaborate with IT teams, departments, vendors, and student workers to deploy hardware/software, manage assets, and support events and instructional technology.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Experience providing technical support in an end-user computing, service desk, desktop support, or IT environment.
• Experience using an IT service management system to manage incidents, service requests, inventory, and technology assets.
• Experience supporting classroom technology, audiovisual systems, or event technology is preferred.
• Experience with IT asset management, inventory control, hardware deployments, or lifecycle management is preferred.
• Experience working in a higher education or similarly complex customer-focused environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents, service requests, and technical support inquiries per SLAs.
• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support university hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Provide technical support via in-person, remote, phone, email, and virtual channels with strong follow-up.
• Document and update incidents, assets, and work in the ITSM system.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and account issues; escalate when needed.
• Perform routine system maintenance and technology evaluations for reliable service.
