Job summary

Eastern Michigan University is seeking a Success Coach to join The Learning Center on Main Campus. You will advise and counsel a caseload of students on academic achievement and program curriculum requirements, and supervise a team of peer-led instructors.

The position requires a master’s degree in college student counseling or student affairs and two years of experience in academic support or counseling. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of academic coaching and counseling and at-risk student populations.
• Two years of experience in an academic support and/or counseling environment.
• Written and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
• Ability to perform physically active work up to 20 pounds may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel a caseload of students on academic achievement and program curriculum requirements; supervise team of peer-led instructors.
• Manage caseload of students by assisting each in creating a personal academic success plan and learning strategy instruction.
• Assist with in-service training seminars for staff, interns and student employees.
• Attend staff meetings and participate on University committees.
• Adhere to university policies, rules and procedures.
