Job summary

Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, seeks a full-time Plastic Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to grow clinical, educational, and research programs. The role includes reconstructive, hand and craniofacial surgery with trauma call requirements.

The division emphasizes teaching, resident education, and a tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and research. A supportive academic environment with generous benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Plastic Surgery residency
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABPS
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure
• Demonstrated clinical competence and skill in teaching (clinical and didactic)
• Fellowship training in microvascular surgery is desirable but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide plastic surgery services including reconstructive procedures and teaching
• Contribute to clinical care, education, and research within an integrated residency program
• Collaborate with colleagues to expand breast reconstruction, transgender care, and aesthetics services
• Take independent hand and face trauma call as needed
• Deliver clinical care at affiliated hospitals and VA Medical Center
