Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is hiring an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students with reading and math gaps, aiming to close those gaps within a school year. The role emphasizes universal screening, Direct Instruction, progress monitoring, and intensive research-based interventions, aligned to IDEA standards and campus initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• K-12 classroom experience preferred.
• State certification preferred but not required.
• Content-area certification or credentials in Math/ELA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction to small groups in 3rd-8th grade (reading/math) including students in general ed, 504, RTI, SPED and ELL.
• Teach district-approved interventions to K-2 or 9-12 based on campus assignment.
• Coordinate with general education teachers to support intervention goals.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Assess and track progress, adjust plans, update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate student progress with families weekly.
• Use technology to support instruction and communication.
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Develop school-wide culture and a constructive classroom community.
• Build strong relationships with students and families.
• Provide tutoring sessions as needed (after-school/Saturday).
• Participate in manager check-ins, meetings, and duties.
• Engage in ongoing professional development; expect 40+ hours on-site weekly.
• Additional responsibilities may include after-school tutoring as needed.
