Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a Human Resources Partner Generalist to serve as the HR contact for faculty, staff, and student employees within the Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine department. You will collaborate with UAB Central Human Resources on recruitment, compensation, and policy interpretation.

Responsibilities include onboarding, performance cycles, HR records maintenance, and advising department leadership on HR matters.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Experience performing HR duties in an academic environment recommended.
Experience using Taleo, PeopleAdmin, Oracle, and Lawson is preferred.

Responsibilities

Functions as the HRP contact for a college, school, or large department.
Manages HR services for a large division and participates in employment processes.
Administers HR policies and advises department administrators.
Acts as liaison between department and Office of Human Resources on HR matters.
Ensures compliance with University HR policies and procedures.
Manages recruitment and acts as faculty relations liaison; may supervise staff.
Oversees HR paperwork for pay changes, new positions, reclassifications, and appraisals.
Maintains HR files and forwards docs to HR Management for personnel files.
Responds to inquiries and advises on HR issue resolution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
