Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a Human Resources Partner Generalist Senior to independently manage and provide strategic HR services to employees within assigned clinical departments across UAB and HSF.

As primary HR advisor to department leadership, faculty, staff, fellows, residents, and trainees, you will develop and implement HR strategies, interpret policies, and support workforce needs, recruitment, compensation, and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven years of related experience required.
• Experience advising on employment, compensation, and workforce matters in a clinical/academic environment is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and implement HR policies and programs.

Responsibilities

• Manages HR services for employees within assigned clinical departments.
• Provides strategic HR advisement for the assigned area and serves as primary HR contact for HR matters.
• Collaborates with UAB HR entities and leadership across the organization.
• Supervises or mentors HR support staff as needed.
• Liaises with the Office of Human Resources and Dean's Office for HR-related matters.
• Interprets and ensures compliance with HR policies and programs.
• Plans and advises on recruitment, compensation, termination for key personnel.
• Contributes to department-wide HR policy development and execution.
• Provides guidance on performance issues and corrective actions.
• Communicates HR programs and regulatory updates to staff and leadership.
• Supports faculty, staff, fellows, residents, and international personnel.
