Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles seeks an experienced HR/payroll administrator to manage faculty, postdoctoral, research staff and residents records, benefits, and payroll processing within the University system.

The role includes handling separations, final payments, and reviewing payroll ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance with union guidelines. Prior UC system experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Knowledge of organization, college and departmental policies and procedures governing academic HR.
• Understanding of variances to stated policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems.
• Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served.
• Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to Chairs / unit management.

Responsibilities

• Process new hires for Faculty, Post Doc, Research, Project Scientists and Residents; discuss benefits, retirement, pay dates and vacation policy.
• Process separations including termination paperwork, final vacation balances, and explain when final payments occur.
• Process entries to correct Health Sciences Compensation Plan salary payments; review payroll ledgers for accuracy.
• Review Post Doctoral data to ensure employment info and salary rate comply with union guidelines.
• Assist with processing quarterly Z payments for ~700 faculty and on-call payments for ~80 faculty and Residents.
• Respond to division managers' questions on personnel and payroll.
