Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a payroll processing specialist to handle onboarding and separations for Faculty, Post Docs, Researchers and Residents in the Los Angeles area. You will explain benefits, retirement, pay dates, and vacation policies while reviewing payroll data for accuracy and ensuring salary rates meet union guidelines.

You will also assist with quarterly Z payments for hundreds of faculty and coordinate on-call payments for faculty and residents.

Qualifications

• Processes new hires and separations for Faculty, Post Doc, Research, Project Scientists and Residents.
• Explains benefits, retirement, pay dates and vacation policy to employees.
• Reviews payroll ledgers to ensure salary payments are accurate.
• Verifies employment data and salary rates align with union guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Responds to division managers with payroll and personnel questions.
• Assists with quarterly Z payments for ~700 faculty and on-call payments for ~80 faculty/residents.
• Reviews post-doctoral data for correctness and period of employment.
• Processes fund changes and employment updates for academic employees.
