Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures governing academic HR.
• Knowledge of organizational, college and departmental policies and variances.
• Knowledge of HR management systems and related software.
• Knowledge of academic culture and educational goals of disciplines served.
• Analytical skills to analyze and recommend actions to Chairs/unit management.

Responsibilities

• Process new hires for Faculty, Post Docs, Researchers, Project Scientists and Residents; discuss benefits, retirement, pay dates and vacation policy.
• Process separations, including termination paperwork and final vacation balances; explain final payments.
• Review and correct Health Sciences Compensation Plan salary entries; verify payroll ledgers.
• Review Post Doctoral data for accuracy of employment period and salary per union guidelines.
• Review fund-change requests and employment updates for other academic employees and residents.
• Assist with quarterly Z payments for ~700 faculty and on-call payments for ~80 faculty and Residents.
• Respond to division managers' questions on personnel and payroll matters.
• Experience with leaves of absence and UC system familiarity preferred.
