Job summary

Proud Moments ABA in Virginia Beach is seeking Behavior Technicians to join our center-based team. BTs work 1-on-1 with children on the autism spectrum alongside BCBAs in a collaborative setting.

Hours are Monday–Friday 3:00–7:00 pm; must be able to work five weekdays. We offer paid training, competitive compensation, and opportunities for growth while making a positive impact on families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience working with children preferred.
• Experience supporting children or adults with behavioral challenges, developmental delays, or special needs preferred.
• Exposure to ASD or other developmental disabilities is preferred, though comprehensive training will be provided.
• Reliable personal transportation with the ability to commute consistently to assigned work locations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of client, family, and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and document information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with a client to implement behavioral plans designed by a BCBA.
• Collect data to monitor progress and report on the treatment plan effectiveness.
• Support BCBA with training families on implementing treatment plans.
• Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, families, and supervisors.
• Maintain clear lines of communication with families, supervisors, and other parties.
• Physically keep up with clients and move about the session area as needed, including activities like standing, running, and lifting 25+ pounds.
• Other tasks outlined by BCBA/LBA.
