Job summary

University of Houston System seeks an Audio-Visual support specialist to maintain and troubleshoot classroom technologies. This role will analyze equipment, interpret schematics, and lead student workers, while assisting with purchasing and deployment of new tech.

The position requires an Associate degree or technical certification and at least six months of related experience. All UH System positions are security sensitive and require a criminal history check.

Qualifications

Requires ability to analyze and interpret procedures, policies and practices in a technical field.
Associate degree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty program of over 18 months and up to 3 years duration.
Minimum of six months of directly job-related experience.

Responsibilities

Analyzes and repairs Audio-Visual equipment to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction.
Reads and interprets equipment schematic diagrams and CAD drawings.
Provides training and leadership to student workers.
Assists with purchasing and commissioning technology.
Loads code or firmware and supports testing and updating network devices.
Serves as the first responder for reported technical issues.
Maintains and modifies equipment as needed.
Understands incident tracking, opening, and closing tickets.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
