Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Audio Visual Systems Support Technician to install, operate, and maintain classroom AV systems across campus. You will support the Liberal Arts classrooms, assist faculty and staff, and help supervise student technicians.

This on-campus role requires a valid driver’s license in addition to readiness for evening/weekend support; position offers TRS retirement and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the skilled construction and maintenance of audio/visual equipment.
• Education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly-skilled and technical work involving the installation, operation, maintenance and support of audio/visual and AV control system equipment.
• Provide technical assistance in planning, construction, repair, and renovation of classroom technology systems; support Liberal Arts Classroom Help Desk operations.
• Identify and repair faults within complex audio/visual systems.
• Assist faculty and classroom users with operation of multimedia and computer systems.
• Assist in training and supervising a team of student employees providing specialized technical support.
• Provide on-call telephone and technical support outside normal hours.
• Assist with inventory management in Liberal Arts technology classrooms.
• Other related functions as assigned.
