Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Audio Visual Systems Support Technician to maintain and troubleshoot multimedia technology across campus classrooms and spaces. Join LAITS to support, install, and repair AV equipment while assisting faculty and staff with multimedia operations.

The role requires on-campus work, occasional after-hours support, and collaboration with a student team to ensure reliable classroom technology and service quality.

Qualifications

• Requires skills in installing, operating, maintaining and supporting audio/visual and AV control systems.
• Preferred: experience with Crestron-controlled systems and distance learning solutions.
• Bachelor's degree and more than four years in multimedia maintenance are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, operation, maintenance and support of AV and control system equipment.
• Provide technical support for classroom technology systems and Liberal Arts Classroom Help Desk.
• Identify and repair faults in complex AV systems and assist faculty with multimedia operations.
• Train and supervise student employees providing technical support.
• Provide on-call technical support outside normal hours.
