Job summary

Horizon Air is offering a Maintenance Technician Development Program in Seattle, WA, designed to help you gain the skills and FAA A&P certification required to become an Horizon Air Technician. You must enroll in a FAR 147 program and commit to 2.5 years of service after completing the license.

Participants will receive mentorship, exposure to maintenance operations, and a defined path toward certification.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a certified FAR 147 FAA Airframe and Powerplant Program.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain A&P License within 90 days of graduation.
  • Passport allowing unrestricted travel to/from the U.S.
  • Ability to enter and exit Canada for maintenance work.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport AOA badge.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Lift 70 lbs. and work on elevated aircraft surfaces.
  • Operate ground support equipment (turboways, forklifts, tow tractors, lifts).
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing with an approved A&P school.
  • Quarterly check-ins with assigned mentor/leader.
  • Communicate curriculum progress with the company.
  • Commit to 2.5 years of service post-program and sign related agreement.
