Job summary

Horizon Air is offering a Maintenance Technician Development Program in the Seattle area designed to help you gain the skills required for an Airframe and Powerplant license. You will enroll in a FAR 147 program and receive mentorship along a defined path toward certification and a career with Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines.

Accepted participants sign an agreement to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for 30 months.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a certified FAR 147 FAA Airframe and Powerplant Program.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain A&P License within 90 days of graduation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport AOA badge.
  • Ability to travel to/from the U.S. and Canada as required for maintenance work.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Able to lift 70 lbs. and work at elevated surfaces.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing with an approved A&P school.
  • Quarterly check-ins with mentor/leader.
  • Maintain communication with the company on curriculum progress.
  • Commit to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for 2.5 years post program completion.
