Job summary

CMS Energy is seeking an Automotive & Equipment (A/E) Mechanic for the Hamilton Service Center in Hamilton, MI. This is a 2nd shift union position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week in a 24/7 operation, with overtime during storms and other emergencies.

Under supervision you will inspect, diagnose and repair hydraulic, brake, transmission, electrical and engine systems on vehicles and equipment, perform routine inspections on aerial devices, and carry out welding and other related tasks to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of hands-on experience as an A/E Mechanic or equivalent.
• Candidate must pass drug/alcohol test and background screen per FMCSA requirements.
• Must obtain Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous Endorsement (CDL-X) within 89 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, braking, carburetion, emission, transmission, starting, charging, and electrical systems.
• Tune engines using analyzers and diagnose front-end suspension systems.
• Perform incidental welding, cutting, heating, and brazing; inspect man lift and aerial devices.
