Job summary

Consumers Energy seeks an Automotive & Equipment Mechanic to support a 24/7 operation at the Saginaw Service Center. You will inspect, diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, braking and emission systems, including engine tuning and lifting equipment, while performing routine inspections and occasional welding.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of hands-on experience, FMCSA screening, and potential CDL-X within 89 days.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience as an A/E Mechanic or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting and repairing hydraulic, air conditioning, brake, carburetion and emission systems.
Tuning engines with analyzers.
Diagnosing and repairing front-end suspension systems.
Diagnosing and repairing cylinder heads.
Making minor repairs to booms, buckets, and vehicle and equipment bodies.
Performing routine inspections of man lift and aerial devices.
Incidental acetylene welding, cutting, heating, and brazing.
May work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays for storms or emergencies.
Performing other similar or related work as necessary.
