County Emergency Communications in Idaho is seeking 911 emergency dispatchers to connect callers with police, fire, and EMS. You will receive emergency and non-emergency calls, collect essential information, confirm locations, and coordinate responders according to agency procedures.

This role requires calm communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask across radio, CAD, and phone systems. Some assignments may include overnight or weekend shifts, with overtime as needed.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent commonly required.
• Useful skills include typing, active listening, clear speech, and basic computer proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Answer emergency and nonemergency calls within the service area.
• Confirm addresses, callback numbers, incident details, and safety concerns.
• Assess call priority using approved questions and procedures.
• Enter incident information into computer-aided dispatch systems.
• Dispatch appropriate responders when assigned to radio operations.
• Monitor radio traffic and update responding personnel as circumstances change.
• Provide approved caller instructions within training and certification limits.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidential information.
