Litchfield County Dispatch is hiring a 911 dispatcher to handle emergency and non-emergency calls for multiple towns in Northwest Connecticut. You will collect essential information, input data into CAD, and coordinate EMS, Fire, and Police responses with calm, accuracy, and professionalism.

Join a 24/7 operation serving over 150k residents. You will undergo required certifications within specified timeframes and contribute to public safety through precise communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• General data collection and input into CAD/dispatch systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information.
• Ability to work in a high-stress, 24/7 public safety environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls, collect and input information into CAD.
• Provide Emergency Medical, Fire, and Police Dispatch services.
• Assist with unit status checks, times, and pre-arrival instructions.
• Operate multi-line phone, alerting, and TDD for hearing-impaired callers.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with training new staff.
