Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut seeks a dispatcher for EMS communications to support rapid response and patient care coordination. You will monitor radios, answer calls, gather information, and enter data into the CAD system to guide field units.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (BS/BA preferred in communications or related field) and EMT certification, with 2 years EMS field experience or 1 year EMS communications experience preferred. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; BS/BA preferred.
• Experience: 2 years EMS field or 1 year EMS communications preferred.
• Current CT EMT certification preferred; ability to obtain/maintain EMD.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone lines and process information accurately and timely.
• Protect PHI and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Follow policies for caller interrogation, information gathering, EMS dispatch, and call triage.
• Enter data accurately into the CAD system for service requests.
• Monitor radios and ensure crew safety; communicate clearly and professionally.
• Attend scheduled department meetings and trainings.
• Adhere to all department policies and procedures.
