County Emergency Communications seeks a 911 Emergency Dispatcher in Vanderpool, TX to connect callers with responders, gather details, and coordinate police, fire, or EMS resources. You will document changes, verify locations, and relay information across dispatch systems.

This role requires calm communication, strong listening, precise typing, and the ability to manage multiple systems. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Typing speed and accuracy are important for fast information entry.
• Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure is essential.

Responsabilités

• Answer emergency and nonemergency calls within the service area.
• Confirm addresses, callback numbers, incident details, and safety concerns.
• Assess call priority using approved questions and procedures.
• Enter incident information into computer-aided dispatch systems.
• Dispatch responders when assigned to radio operations.
• Monitor radio traffic and update responders as incidents change.
• Provide caller instructions within training/certification limits.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidential information.
