Job summary

Public Safety Dispatch Network is seeking 911 Call Takers in Crofton, MD to handle emergency and nonemergency calls with guided questions and accurate data entry into dispatch software.

Successful candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong listening, typing, and communication skills, and the ability to follow structured procedures while remaining calm under pressure. Training and certifications are provided as required.

Qualifications

• Strong listening comprehension and accurate typing skills.
• Clear verbal communication and ability to follow structured procedures.
• Experience in customer service or public safety is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
