Job summary

Regional 911 Intake Solutions in Orwell, VT is seeking 911 Call Takers to be the first point of contact for emergency callers. You will ask focused questions, confirm locations, document details, and route information to the appropriate responders.

This role may involve rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; prior customer service or public safety experience is helpful, with training and certification provided.

• Ability to listen carefully and type accurately while following structured procedures.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
